If you are a man or a woman you are susceptible to being obsessed with breasts. They have become a symbol of sex and desire across the entire world and show no signs of dwindling in this obsession. Most trendy elements of our society fluctuate with time and large breasts are in full swing at the moment. We are bombarded with women that have large breasts and amazing bust lines in every marketing campaign through out the advertising agencies.

Breasts are no different than any of other trends we have seen in the last 20-30 years.  Just like bell-bottoms or the hideous rolled jeans in the 80s, breasts have become the new “in” thing and as a society we can’t seem to get enough of them.

They have not always been the “in” thing even if men have always been attracted to them.  Not too long ago we saw supermodels like Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford that were skinny, well proportioned women with very little bust or curves. This was what was considered “hot” or appealing to most people and was the standard of being a sex symbol in the 80s and early 90s.

Now that the United States has evolved its power to market and sell sex at every turn we are seeing voluptuous, large breasted women be catapulted to the forefront of what defines sexy.  Now we are seeing women like Adrian Lima and Jessica Simpson be the poster children of what we are deeming to be a sought after way to look.  Aside from that, girls in their early teens are getting larger breasts due to the growth hormone that is injected into our food supply. A woman who is in her late 20s who was on the cusp of this growth hormone being used is now left feeling a little jealous or insecure about not being as ample as someone 10 or 20 years younger.

Now that getting a bigger bust is so easy with plastic surgery we are even more consumed by the obsession.  Add that and thousands of years of evolution seeing men be drawn to breasts on a subconscious or primeval level seeing them as a signification of entering womanhood seen as more of a natural instinct than a raging desire.  So the obsession has been brewing since the dawn of man and now with pop culture and the marketing world we are, as a society, obsessed with breasts.
