Are you dissatisfied with your breasts, perhaps at one time you took pride you looked. If you are a woman who is a little older and has been through what life has to offer such as pregnancy, age, the force of gravity and weight changes; all of this may have taken a toll on the way your breasts look. At this time you may find yourself trying all the conventional ways to give yourself added support.
Should you do something?
If you have tried all of this and are unhappy with it you might be beginning to think you should try something different to rectify the situation perhaps even plastic surgery but you are not really sure just what you need. You are starting to think of a breast lift or implants, maybe augmentation. Do you need one the other or both and what is the difference between the procedures? How can you find out what you need?
The Difference between a Lift and Augmentation
To best describe it breast augmentation fills empty space that is left by any loss of natural tissue. What happens is breast implants are put in your breasts to increase their size. A breast lift, however, will raise breasts that are sagging and return them to their normal position. If you have lost some tissue through either pregnancy or weight loss your bust size might shrink and you will become smaller than you were. At this point the breasts will start to sag because they were stretched and afterwards shrank. If you have not lost fat or tissue but they are no longer as high as they were, gravity has taken over. This can also be fixed. Having a breast lift will do it; a breast lift pulls the breasts up to where they should be.
Getting a Doctor
Sometimes both an implant and augmentation are used to correct the situation. If the sagging is very severe and there is a great deal of tissue loss, expect to have both. This will be done at the same time. You can get the look of youth back. If you decide to so this make sure it will be done by a licensed, board certified surgeon with experience in this type of operation, some might be more adapt in other forms of plastic surgery. Look at pictures and make sure that he can do what you want done, if you do not like what you see, find another doctor.
