There have been many myths and rumors spread about the impact of implants on a woman’s daily life and some have been proven to be totally untrue. Yes, there are risks involved with breast surgery, these are not hidden away but are always fully explained, there are no conspiracies there. But one only has to look at the internet and other media sources and there seems to be a certain campaign against surgery and the after effects.
It should be noted that of the thousands of women that have had breast surgery most have suffered nothing more than minor side effects. A great deal none at all. In fact, when the odds are weighed up it seems that the chances of severe implications are in fact very little. But this will not stop the spreaders of rumor and the scaremongers.
One such myth that is currently spread around is that women that have undergone surgery and have implants are restricted in the breast feeding department. This is a very strange comment as it has been widely reported that women that have undergone augmentation have expressed a fact that breast feeding is somewhat easier.
Now there could be a valid reason why this has never been reported before. Most women in the past would seek breast surgery after they had given birth to the children and the breast beauty had suffered from the effects of the body changing during and after pregnancy. Thus, it was the childbearing which gave cause to seek surgery so this went unnoticed.
The problems regarding breast feeding stemmed from an incident in the early nineties when it was suspected that a child had silicon poisoning from breast feeding. This was however refuted and finally proved to be false as the silicone was to wide to pass through the breast ducts. However, the silicone implant was still banned and a saline implant was created instead. Such implants could not cause a problem even if leaking to the babies’ milk.
There is of course unknown things about implants and there long term effects but it is widely recognized that breast feeding is not one of these issues.
There are now other treatments on the market that address the issue of breast development, herbal supplements and the such. Medial advice would be that if you were planning on childbirth in the future that these supplements are a better option to take as there is no documented evidence of side effects. |
